Mark Singel in Lancaster to Support Molly
Mark
S. Singel, Former Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor, came to
Lancaster Friday evening in support of Commissioner Molly
Henderson’s re-election and joined Singer/Songwriter Bobbi
Carmitchell in entertaining about 50 supporters gathered to energize
Molly for the last weeks of the campaign season.
Singel
encouraged
voters to go to the polls and support Molly and the Democratic
ticket on November 6th. He said that the election was not about
Democrats vs. Republicans, but about competency in government at all
levels.
A well-traveled
performer, Lancaster County native Bobbi Carmitchell captures scenes
and memories of Lancaster in her CD "County Wide". View

Lancaster Leads Nation in Acres Preserved
A national survey
conducted this month by Farmland Preservation Report found that
Lancaster County, Pa. now ranks No. 1 in the nation for number of
acres preserved in a farmland preservation effort, with development
rights retired from 72,831 acres. Two other counties, Berks (Pa.),
and Harford (Md.), moved up in the ranking, Berks from 4th to 3 rd
place, and Harford from 10th to 9th. Read

Molly Henderson on Economic
Development
I support
sustainable economic development for Lancaster County. It is very
difficult to separate out economic development as a separate topic,
as ties into most of what County Commissioners do, directly or
indirectly. During my last three and one-half years as County
Commissioner, my economic development efforts have been focused in
the following areas: Workforce Development, Transportation,
Planning, the Private Sector, and Targeted, Leveraged Project
Funding. Read more...
Heritage
Remarks by Molly
Henderson delivered at the 84th Annual LCDC Corn Roast on August 18,
2007
The Lancaster
County Comprehensive Plan, mandated by our State Government, has
five spokes to it. One is devoted to the heritage of our region. Our
heritage is our past, history and what we are about: * hard work *
agriculture * industry * the foundation of our county, region, state
and country.

Hoeffel in Lancaster to Support
Henderson Campaign
Former
Congressman and Montgomery County Commissioner, Joe Hoeffel came to
Lancaster County Friday evening and spoke at an event in support of
Lancaster County Commissioner Molly Henderson’s re-election
campaign.
"As a former
Montgomery County Commissioner, I know Lancaster County cannot
afford three rookies in the Courthouse in 2008,” Hoeffel said.
“Molly Henderson is known throughout South central Pennsylvania as an
outstanding and able Commissioner and is the only candidate in the
race who can carry the essential understanding of County government
to the next Board."
Henderson campaign
co-Chair, Lois Herr, introduced Hoeffel to the gathering of between
45-50 people at a private home in Lancaster Township.
After Hoeffel
spoke, Commissioner Henderson discussed the county commissioners’
farmland preservation record, ranked first in the state. Henderson
also remarked on the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) policy
that is consolidating military facilities across the country.
One such consolidation will occur in Harford County, Maryland, where
5000 -7000 jobs will be added at the Aberdeen military base. Many of those workers will be moving
with entire households, potentially creating a substantial influx of
people in Southern Lancaster County.
“This issue is on
our horizon,” Henderson said. “This [BRAC] could impact the
schools, land, fire, police, and all kinds of zoning issues in that
part of the county. We must be prepared, and we need experienced
leadership to facilitate this impending change.

Henderson and Lehman Receive Primary Nominations
Lancaster
County voters, in the May 15 primary election, overwhelmingly
nominated Molly Henderson and Craig Lehman as County Commissioner
candidates in the general election in November.
In the primary election
campaign, Molly Henderson spoke and wrote about the important issues
facing Lancaster County instead of attacking other candidates.
Henderson and Lehman provide a well-balanced Commissioner ticket,
appealing to a broad spectrum of voters, and are expected to do very
well in the general election. Democrats, Republicans, independents
and others are encouraged to vote to elect Henderson and Lehman in

Henderson Comes Out in Favor of "No-Build" Route 23 Option
Molly Henderson is the
first major County political figure to support the "no build" option
for Route 23. Joining farmers, farmland preservationists,
environmentalists, and their supporters, Molly favors appropriate roadway
improvements rather than a new farmland-gobbling road. "Imagine what
$70 million in transportation dollars could do to improve our vital
north-south routes such as 72 and 501 if not squandered to build a
new 23,"
Henderson noted.
