Lancaster Leads Nation in Acres Preserved

A national survey conducted this month by Farmland Preservation Report found that Lancaster County, Pa. now ranks No. 1 in the nation for number of acres preserved in a farmland preservation effort, with development rights retired from 72,831 acres. Two other counties, Berks (Pa.), and Harford (Md.), moved up in the ranking, Berks from 4th to 3 rd place, and Harford from 10th to 9th. Read more...

Molly Henderson on Economic Development

I support sustainable economic development for Lancaster County.  It is very difficult to separate out economic development as a separate topic, as ties into most of what County Commissioners do, directly or indirectly.  During my last three and one-half years as County Commissioner, my economic development efforts have been focused in the following areas: Workforce Development, Transportation, Planning, the Private Sector, and Targeted, Leveraged Project Funding.
